Access Statement

All are welcome at Tyn Cornel Camping – if you have any particular requirements please get in touch (booking@tyncornelcamping.co.uk. 01678 520759) and we will do our very best to meet your needs.

Tyn Cornel Camping is on the A4212 Porthmadog road, 4 miles from Bala and just past the village of Frongoch. We are easily located from Bala – after you pass through Frongoch you will see our big green sign on the left just before our entrance. There are brown tourist signs too. Our postcode is LL23 7NU but your satnav may take you past us, to the National White Water Centre, so look out for our signs! Grid reference is SH 895398 and co-ordinates are lat: 52.945250, long: -3.6446607.

Entrance to the campsite is over a river bridge. All roads within the campsite are gravelled and there is a 5 mph speed limit.

Reception is clearly marked. There is ramp access and space for parking outside.

We can provide information in large print or alternative formats if you let us know beforehand.

Gates to the camping and electric hook-up field are locked between 11pm and 8am, in order to minimise vehicle noise overnight. The pedestrian gates are always open as well as the adjacent car park.

We have grass, single and double hardstanding pitches and the majority are level, a few are gently sloping. Guests are able to park their cars beside their pitches. Help with siting and pitching is always available.

The main amenity block – showers/toilets/washing up area/waste water emptying point/laundry/drinking water – is central to the campsite and accessed by foot. It is lit at night, and heated when it’s cold outside.

We have a disabled toilet and shower room with ramp access, which does not need a key to access. It has a seat, shower stool and grab rails.

There are also 2 flushing toilets in porta cabins on the camping field with solar lighting.

There is limited lighting across the site, so that our guests can enjoy the night stars.

Fire points and drinking water taps are clearly marked and conveniently dotted around the site. Rubbish and recycling bins too.

Dogs are very welcome and we have a field where they can be walked with a bin for dog waste.

The closest rail link is Wrexham/Ruabon with hourly buses from there to Bala. Taxis are available from Bala courtesy of Global Taxis Ltd (07850 370232). Public transport is available in Bala.

Emergency numbers for doctor/dentist/vet/taxi are clearly displayed on the entrance door to reception. There is a public telephone kiosk 800 metres from the campsite beside Frongoch village shop and an emergency telephone available in reception – we live on site so are available to help whenever possible.

Mobile telephone coverage is mixed, 3 and EE have the best reception. We do have free Wifi which covers the whole site.
