Changes for 2021 due to Coronavirus – COVID 19
The following changes apply to 2021 bookings and supersede our standard terms and conditions. Based on government guidance and legislation we may need to change these at short notice.
Book with confidence
If we have to close due to coronavirus, your local area is subject to lockdown, if you cannot travel due to self-isolation or because you have developed symptoms:
- We will change your booking to another date in 2021 (subject to availability) or we will refund you in full
1 household bubble, 2 pitches
We are currently only accepting bookings up to a maximum of six people from two households, within the same bubble on two pitches.
We won’t be allowing day guests on-site.
If you are unsure about this, please email us prior to booking and we’ll do our best to help.
Our payment policy has changed slightly to allow for contactless check-in
For all camping and touring pitches:
- 30% deposit to a minimum of £30 per pitch with the balance payable prior to arrival
For our Riverside Pods and for all stays on bank holiday weekends:
- Full payment at the time of booking
Symptoms before you travel
We want to keep everyone safe, so please do not travel if you are feeling unwell or are displaying any symptoms of Coronavirus. Please get in touch about your booking and we’ll do our best to help.
Symptoms whilst on site
Get in touch and let us know as soon as you can. We will need to record that you have potential symptoms, so please ensure you call, text or email us so we can support you and adhere to government guidelines.
If you are well enough to travel, you will be asked to go home to self-isolate, avoiding public transport
Should you feel too unwell or be unable to leave, we will ask you to isolate in your accommodation and we will support you as appropriate.
Arrival and check-in
We will ensure that check-in is as contactless as possible. You will receive directions to your pitch via email in advance plus an information pack or, if you require assistance, we will meet you from a safe distance at the campsite entrance at a pre-arranged time.
Check in times unless arranged in advance will be as follows:
- All camping and touring pitches: from 2pm until 7pm
- Check-out by midday
- Pods and Lotus Belle Tents: check-in from 3pm until 7pm
- Check-out by 11am
Balance payments will be made in advance either online or over the phone. If you decide to extend your stay or need to make a payment at the campsite we will have contactless options for payment.
Social distancing on site
We have reduced campsite capacity and our pitches will be well spaced out. We do ask that you stick to the social distancing and hygiene guidelines whilst on-site, taking particular care around any shared facilities.
- Stick to 2m+ distancing from other people outside of your party
- Don’t gather in groups outside of your bubble
- Please follow any current guidelines we provide for safe use of any of the facilities
The safety of all our guests and staff is our number one priority so anyone not adhering to the guidelines will unfortunately be asked to leave.
Depending on regulations at the time of your stay we may be unable to open our on-site shop. We would recommend you bring soap, hand gel, gloves, toilet roll, disinfectant, hand sanitiser and insect repellent with you from home.
We would always encourage you to support local businesses where possible, but please bear in mind that Bala is a small rural community with a relatively small population. With this in mind, we would recommend you stock up on sundry items before you get here, as you may struggle to find some things locally. Arranging supermarket deliveries can be difficult and it’s important the local supermarkets and pharmacies maintain stock for isolated or vulnerable people in our community.
At the moment we do plan to open our shared facilities for 2021. This includes our toilets, sinks, shower blocks, dishwashing sinks and laundry. The facilities will be subject to social distancing and enhanced hygiene protocols in line with the latest government guidance. However, as guidance changes, we may need to change the facilities that are available. If this does happen, we will contact you prior to your stay.
Touring caravans and motorhomes – self contained definition
Self-contained accommodation, defined by the Welsh government as ‘modern touring caravans and motorhomes with their own kitchens and bathrooms that no other guests use.’
Riverside Pods and Lotus Belle Tents
The pods and Lotus Belle tents will receive a deep clean between stays. No one, other than booked guests, will enter the accommodation until departure.
Hand washing, hand sanitising and masks
We will be providing hand sanitiser at our shared facilities. However, we do ask that you bring your own and to follow the recommended hand washing guidelines whilst on-site.
Mask wearing on site will be in line with current government guidance.
