Full Terms and Conditions

Important Points and standard terms and conditions:

We want everyone to have a nice, safe and relaxing time at Tyn Cornel Camping so we kindly ask that you note the following:

Please don’t disturb your fellow campers.

Tyn Cornel Camping is within Snowdonia National Park which is part of the charm.  There are natural hazards such as waterways, tree roots, rocks and limited lighting after dark.  In particular, the River Tryweryn is a beautiful and exciting river but does flow fast so please take care.

Campfires are only allowed on our campsite in fire pits provided by us or raised fire pits, using only wood purchased on site.

Fire pits are free to hire subject to availability on your arrival day.

No fireworks, chinese lanterns, flares, guns or weapons.

As we are a quiet, family-friendly site we ask for no noise after 10pm and that at all times music is kept at a level that cannot be heard from other pitches.

If you bring a dog this remains your responsibility at all times, must be on a lead and not left unattended. Dogs are limited to a maximum of 3 per party and will incur an additional charge. They must be exercised away from the main camping areas. You are responsible for any mess which must be cleaned up and disposed of immediately. You will be asked to put your dog on a lead if it is seen roaming free around the campsite.

Drunk, disorderly or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to ask you to leave should this occur.

You must take large items of rubbish away with you i.e. broken tents, cardboard, broken chairs etc. Only general food waste and packaging is to be disposed of in our bins. We have general waste and recycling bins on site, so please recycle when possible. You may be liable to a £40 charge if we have to dispose of bulky items.

Check-in is from 2pm onwards (3pm for Lotus Belle tents & Riverside Pods).  Our Reception hours are until 6pm Saturday to Thursday, 9pm on Fridays. During low season, reception hours may vary.

Please let us know in advance if you will be arriving outside of reception hours so we can make arrangements for your arrival.  Late arrivals are on a request basis only.

We generally only accept families and couples.  Larger or single sex groups are welcome only at our discretion and must be arranged directly with the campsite via email.  This also applies to any groups of more than ten people and/or three or more camping units/pitches.

To reserve a pitch we ask for 30% or £30 deposit (£50 for Pods and £70 for Lotus Belle tents), whichever is the greater amount.  On bank holiday weekends we ask for full payment.

Please help us keep the grass healthy by raising barbecues, stoves and any heat source, such as hot pans, off the ground.

To keep the pitches in good condition please keep driving on the grass to a minimum.  In rare periods of heavy rain we may ask that cars are parked away from the pitch in the car park nearby.

Pitches and units
Unit: a standard unit is a tent, trailer tent, single axle caravan, campervan or motorhome and one car up to a maximum of 8m x 5m, inclusive of guy ropes.  As a guide any unit designed to sleep more than six will not fit on a standard pitch.  Guests with a tent, caravan, motorhome etc. designed to sleep more than six need to contact us and we’ll do our best to accommodate you on a suitable pitch.  As we are a small campsite we are unable to accept truck or lorry conversions.

Traditional Grass Camping Pitch: an undefined grass pitch on which to station your unit, suitable for tents, trailer tents and small campervans (less than 5.5m in length).  Electric hook-up is not available on traditional grass camping pitches.

A single attached awning or toilet tent or small trailer is also included in the pitch price.  One car may be parked adjacent to the pitch, ground conditions allowing.  Additional vehicles must be parked in the adjacent car park at a cost of £5.50 per day.

Every unit should be not less than 6m from any other unit, unless you are camped with other friends/family, in which case the distance is not less than 3m.   Vehicles, awnings or trailers are permitted within the 6m space between units but, in order to restrict the spread of fire, there should always be 3m clear space within the 6m separation.

There is no vehicular access to the Lotus Belle tents, cars should be parked in the car park which is a short walk away.  We provide hand carts and assistance for luggage if required.
Fires are only permitted in the fire pits and wood burning stoves provided, using firewood purchased or provided by the campsite.
For safety reasons we respectfully ask for no smoking, cooking or burning of candles in the tents.  In addition, please do not place anything on or above the woodburning stoves, eg hanging clothes. Outdoor footwear and pets are not permitted.

We clean the tents after every stay so that when you arrive all you have to do is settle in and make yourself at home.  To assist with this, we kindly request that accommodation is left as clean and tidy as possible.

Pods

We clean the pods after every stay so that when you arrive all you have to do is settle in and make yourself at home.  To assist with this, we kindly request that accommodation is left as clean and tidy as possible.

For safety reasons we respectfully ask for no smoking, cooking or burning of candles in the pods.  Please do not place anything on or above the electric heaters.  Outdoor footwear and pets are not permitted.

The pods come with beds, seating, electricity, lighting and heating but you will need to bring everything else you may need for your camping trip.  For example, sheets, bedding and cooking equipment.

It may also mean that we will not accept a future booking from you and you may also be responsible for any loss or damage we incur.

As we are a quiet, family-friendly site we ask for no noise after 11pm and that at all times music is kept at a level that cannot be heard from other pitches.  Fuel powered generators are not permitted on site.

We reserve the right to ask any customer for a security bond regardless of party size. This will be refunded in full at the end of your stay unless, in our opinion, you have displayed unreasonable behaviour (this includes, but is not limited to, excessive noise, wilful damage to the site or other people’s property and abuse of our staff).

Dogs are welcome on our campsite, please see the website for the latest prices.  Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and any fouling must be collected and disposed of.  A maximum of three dogs per pitch are permitted and we don’t accept dogs listed within the dangerous dogs act. If there is an incident on site involving your dog, you may be asked to leave the site immediately.

Tyn Cornel Camping is within Snowdonia National Park which is part of the charm. There are natural hazards such as waterways, tree roots, rocks and limited lighting after dark.  By Booking and coming to stay you agree to be responsible for your children, pets and your own welfare and to take all reasonable precautions against personal injury, injury to others and damage to the environment.  In particular, the River Tryweryn is a beautiful and exciting river but does flow fast so please take care.  Please supervise children and dogs at all times.

Barbecues and campfires
Charcoal barbecues are allowed on all pitches.  However, campfires are allowed only in the grass camping field or the Lotus Belle Tent area, using the fire pits and firewood provided by Tyn Cornel Camping.  No wood can be taken from the local woodland or campsite or brought in from elsewhere.

Campfires are not allowed in the electric hook-up field or the Pod pitches for safety reasons.

Fires and barbecues must be at least 3 metres away from tents, caravans, vehicles, hedges, trees or property and must cause no damage to vegetation.  They must be used in a responsible manner with reasonable safety measures taken.  Do not leave your fire unattended at any time.  Make sure fires and barbecues are completely extinguished and cold before leaving them, disposing of them or going to bed. Dispose of cold ash or cold used barbecues in the designated bins.

Never take a barbecue or fire into a tent, awning, caravan or motorhome.  Never use a fuel-burning appliance to heat your tent or awning.  Don’t cook, or use any other gas, charcoal, liquid or solid fuel appliances inside your tent or awning.

Complaints
We want you to have a great time.  Should you have cause for complaint, please let us know immediately and we will try to makes things right.  We ask you to note that if you do not give us the opportunity to resolve the problem by reporting it to us, we may not be able to deal with any complaint on your return and your rights to claim may have been reduced or forfeited.

All bookings made that include the nights within a Bank Holiday Weekend: 100% of all money paid.

If you leave site early for any reason Tyn Cornel Camping will not issue any refund for unused camping nights.

Unfortunately in some circumstances Tyn Cornel Camping may have to cancel your booking.  In these circumstances, we will offer you a full refund of any fees paid or the option of an alternative pitch/site of a comparable standard (with you paying any additional cost or receiving a refund in respect of a price difference).  No other compensation is available.

Please notify Tyn Cornel Camping as soon as possible if you wish to amend your booking.  Please note any amendment is subject to availability.  All amendments will be subject to a £10 per booking administration charge plus any additional cost arising from the amendment you wish to make.  This is likely to include cancellation charges within 28 days of arrival for camping pitches and 42 days of arrival for Lotus Belle tents and Pods.  Transferred dates must be within the same booking season.

Arrival and Departure
On arrival, please visit the site reception before pitching and pay any outstanding balance on your booking with any additional fees.

Arrival times are between 2pm (3pm for Lotus Belle tents and Pods) and reception closing.  As a guide this is no later than 7pm Sunday-Thursday and 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays.  Please inform us if you are likely to arrive after these times.

For advance bookings, if not notified otherwise, your pitch will be held until dusk on the day of your arrival, after which it will be put up for re-sale and your booking treated as a cancellation with your monies retained.

Pitches must be vacated by 12pm (11am for Lotus Belle tents and Pods) on the day of departure unless otherwise agreed with us.  Departures after midday are on request only, subject to availability and the current late checkout fee, please see website for details.

Management and behaviour on site
We want all our customers to have an enjoyable holiday but you must remember that you are responsible for your actions and the effect they may have on others.  In placing a booking request, you agree that you and your party will at all times comply with the requests of the Tyn Cornel Camping team.  As the person booking the holiday, you are responsible for the behaviour of all members of the party whilst on the site.  You must take reasonable care of your accommodation and take precautions for your own safety.  If we (or another person in authority) believe your actions could upset others, put them in danger, or damage property, we may end your holiday.  If this happens we will not pay compensation or meet any expense you incur as a result.

If at the end of your stay with us you feel we have not dealt with your complaint satisfactorily, we ask that the main booker submits a written complaint within 28 days of your return home, using the contact details below.
